Obituary

RAYMOND WILLIAM TUCKER was born in Belize, Central America on August 31, 1945, to James Tucker and EltrudeTasher. He was later raised by his stepmother, Lecha Lozano. Raymond grew up in Belize City where he attended Holy Redeemer Primary School and while still in his early years he served in the Volunteer Guards of British Honduras. As a young man in Belize, Raymond worked in various industries, such as construction, security and warehouse keeper for Gomez Warehouse, where he spent a large part of his working years.

In 1969, he met the love of his life, Marion Rowland. They got married almost immediately and on August 29th of this year, they would have been celebrating 43 years of marriage.

Raymond left Belize in 1971 and migrated to Los Angeles, California where he worked mainly in the security guard business.

Raymond loved life, he loved to have fun, and he enjoyed traveling with his wife all over the world. After every trip he would say “men, that was the best trip ever”. Raymond just loved family, his family, and his wife’s family. He loved to dance and enjoyed playing his music, especially if he was feeling good, he would have that music going. One of his favorite songs was “If I had a pair of Wings’, Raymond just enjoyed life. Raymond was also an avid fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He would get really upset when his Dodgers lost a game.

Raymond accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior about 15 years ago and he was a faithful member of Christ’s Community Church of Los Angeles for many years, up until his illness in 2012. Christ’s Community Church of Los Angeles is where he grew in the knowledge of God that strengthened his faith. Raymond’s strong faith was especially shown during his illness. He would often tell Marion “Leave everything to God, once you pray, just leave it, don’t worry about it”. When Marion asked him who was going to take care of her if he left, he told her God would.

Raymond passed from this life to eternal life on August 12, 2013. He is now safe and at rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was predeceased by his mother: Eltrude Tasher; father James Tucker; and two brothers: James Tucker and Godfrey Bain.

He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife: Marion, son: Frederick (Jessica), grandchildren: Shanae, Ja-Sya, Jah-Seed, Jah-Son; brothers: William Tucker, Rudolph Tucker (Sonia Tucker), Egbert Tucker (Sherry Tucker), Herman Tucker, Carl Tucker, Elroy Tucker, Maurice Tasher, Gilroy Bain; sisters: Valen Tucker, Emily Bowen (Lloyd Bowen), Marie Robinson (Paul Robinson), Carla Tucker, Ann Tucker, Melva Augustin, Rose Stewart, Violet Williams; aunts: Louise Tucker, Sonia Swift, Olive Tasher, Myrna Pagett, Martha Tasher, Jean Otley; and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous friends.
