Penny passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 6, 2013, with family by her side. She had a long battle with illness and had gentle comforting hospice care during her last months.
She was born December 28, 1944, in Huntington Park, California and lived most of her life in the Hawthorne area. She attended Cabrillo and Dana schools in the Wiseburn School District and was a member of the 1964 class of Hawthorne High School.
During her working career, she was employed by several businesses in the South Bay area with the last 20 years at Glentek in El Segundo.
She is survived by mother, Arlene Hopper, sisters, Lois Grover and Diana Carolus, son, Moses Gallegos, daughter, Lisa Gallegos, daughter-in-law, Trisha Gallegos, grandchildren, Rachel, Jacob, Josiah, and Rebekah Gallegos, and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her father, George Hopper and son, Jeffrey Gallegos.
