Jesse Joseph Sam, age 69, of Inglewood, CA, passed away from his earthly life to his heavenly home on Monday, September 30, 2013, at Centinela Hospital in Inglewood, CA, surrounded by his loved ones.

Jesse was born October 31, 1943, in Grand Prairie, Louisiana to his parents, Alcide Sam and Eltra Malveaux Sam. He was the third of four children. Jesse attended Plaisance High School and graduated in 1962. He served in the United States Army from 1969-1970, serving 14 months and 2 days in Viet Nam.

Jesse married Mary Eileen Marchand in June 1969. They had two children.

Jesse was employed by American Airlines for 30 years. He was a resident of Inglewood, CA for 39 years.

Jesse will be remembered by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Eileen; his children, Christopher Sam (Rhonda) and Mark Sam (Trish). He is also survived by three grandchildren, Briauna, Jordan and Naya; one sister, Geneva Sam Auzenne; one sister-in-law, Gloria Sam; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and two brothers, Lee Meril Sam and Elgy Sam.
