Erma Louise Carpenter

March 02, 1939 – August 10, 2013

Obituary

Louise Carpenter (also known as Lu) was born on March 30, 1939, in Tchula, Mississippi. She was the seventh of sixteen born to David and Inez Richardson.

Louise moved to Los Angeles, California in 1960, where she met and married Willie Carpenter in 1962. God blessed their union with three children.

She leaves to mourn her passing: son Arondo Carpenter; daughter Inez Carpenter; two grandsons, Charles Smith and Leon Taylor, and one great-granddaughter Skye Taylor; siblings: Leon Richardson, Lethonia Richardson, Reddix Richardson, Randolph Richardson, John Richardson, Sherwin Richardson, Hal Richardson, Justine Richardson Williams, Sarah Richardson King, Amie Richardson Thurman, Pastell Richardson, Daisy Richardson and Brenda Fay Richardson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding her in death was her husband Willie Carpenter; daughter Gail Carpenter; brother David Richardson Jr.; and sister Sylvia Richardson Sloan.

Louise perfected the role of wife and mother in family management; she is loved and will truly be missed. She was the best Aunt in the world. She gave her all to everyone. She enjoyed family unity, church, music, baseball, fishing, parades, spending time at the casino and she loved the song “Down Home Blues” by ZZ Hill.
