Obituary

Walter Ray Craig was born September 9, 1932, in Dallas, Texas to Alma Faye Wilson. Raised by his adopted parents, Isaac and Mabel Craig, as youth he received his education in the Dallas Unified School District. Walter attended Booker T. Washington High School, where he received letters in track and football.

Walter began his college education at Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio. He interrupted his college education to serve his country, by enlisting in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After serving from 1951-1955, he relocated to Los Angeles, California, where he initially pursued a career in the entertainment industry. During this time, he received his Associate of Arts Degree from Compton College in Compton, California. After which, he began his career as a machinist in the aircraft industry until retirement.

For fifty-six years, Walter was married to Violet Craig. To this union one son, Kenyatta Stephan Craig was born.

He departed this life on July 23, 2013 at Loma Linda Veterans Hospital.

Walter leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife Violet Craig; his loving son Kenyatta Stephan Craig; daughter-in-law Lori Craig; and granddaughter Morganne Corrine Craig. He also leaves a sister-in-law Lou Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
