Regina Theresa Brooks

December 05, 1954 – June 30, 2013

Obituary

Regina Theresa Brooks was born the third of eight children on December 6, 1954, in Los Angeles, California to Naomi and Francis Brooks Sr.

Regina attended St. Albert The Great. She began high school at Regina Caeli and graduated from Gardena High in 1972. Regina went on to Occidental College in Los Angeles, California and then accepted an entry-level position with Pacific Bell, which became SBC, and is now AT&T. She advanced through various assignments culminating with her position as a Supervisor Assistant and retired after 30 years of service. During her employment, she was instrumental in helping so many people by mentoring and assisting them to advance in their careers.

Regina was kind, calm, and quiet, but there were so many sides of Regina" her successful career, her natural gift for arts, crafts, and writing; her love of entertaining, cooking, baking, and reading. She would say, however, it was her love of the Lord and her family that sustained her.

Regina's generosity was not limited. She spent most of her time and energy helping others. In Regina's eyes, no one was a stranger. She supported numerous church organizations, community groups, charities, and helped family and friends in many ways. Regina will always be remembered for her selflessness, love, compassion, and empathy.

Regina was preceded in death by her father Francis Brooks Sr. She leaves behind her beloved mother, Naomi Brooks; sisters: Rose Brooks-Mitchell, Ursula Brooks, Helena Brooks-Jones, Helene Brooks, Madeline Brooks and Anna Lois Jones; brothers: Francis Brooks Jr. and Albert Brooks; two brothers-in-law Reverend Jimmy Mitchell and Reese Jones, along with five nieces and nephews: Nicole, Leah, Kiara, Andre, and Jamari, and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Regina will be truly missed but never forgotten by those of us who knew and loved her.
