Joe Nathen Session Jr.

August 20, 1974 – June 02, 2014

Obituary

Joe Nathen Session Jr. was born on August 20, 1974, in Los Angeles, CA to Joe Session Sr. and Sharell Mitchell. He was one of six children. He received his formal education attending Cimarron Avenue Elementary School, Henry Clay Middle School and he graduated from Washington High School. As a Christian, Joe accepted Christ at an early age. He kept a deep love for God throughout his life and he attended Olivet Lutheran Church.

Later in life, Joe met the love of his life LaShawntae. She was walking across the street to get some ice cream. They were married on March 2, 2001. They had two beautiful children, JoShon and Jo’Nai Session. Also joining this union are two beautiful girls, Sharon and JoDawn Session.

Joe worked for Towne Air Freight as a fork lift driver. His co-workers always said he was a hard worker and they held him in high esteem for his dedication.

Joe had a passion for motorcycle and belong to the Adventurers Motorcycle Club. As a people person, Joe not only enjoyed going to parties, he always watched over and made sure all friends and family were having a good time and were safe. He loved keeping busy and was a busy body. However, he did have his moments when he was very mellow and humble. Regardless of his mood, Joe was always loveable, loving, kind and friendly with a great sense of humor that could light up any room. There was never a time that he was not helpful, especially working on cars; that’s what he called his spear job. Joe could be serious at times, but not all the time because he was known as the practical joker in the family.

Joe loved to travel with his family to San Diego, Las Vegas, Palm Springs and other places. He enjoyed cooking and could cook some good barbecue. In the evenings when he was off from work or on the weekends, you could catch him watching a football or basketball game relaxing. We all know Joe loved his Harley motorcycle... from riding it, to working on it, to fixing on it, but nothing took could top his love for his children and family.

On June 2, 2014, Joe was called home. Joe is preceded in death by his father Joe Nathen Session, Sr.; mother Sharell Mitchell; brother Reginald Mitchell; and his first love Diana Williams.

Those left to cherish his memories are: his wife LaShawntae of 13 years; children: Sharon Session, JoDawn Session, Dah’Majay Netherly, JoShon Session, Jo’Nai Session, Kailen Arnold; three brothers:
Vernell (Felicia) Mitchell, Brad (Brittney) Session, Josh Session; sisters: Naekia Session and Tiffani Session; aunts, Beverly Mitchell, Loretta Session, Gloria Session, Ann Session, Sharon Session, Jeanette (Ray) Robinson; uncles: Reginald Mitchell, William (Bernice) Session, Frank (Debra) Session, Earl Session; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, Adventurers Motorcycle Club and friends.
