Clifton Harris, Sr.

October 15, 1934 – July 08, 2013

Obituary

We rejoice in celebration of Clifton Harris, Sr. who was the first of five children, born
October 15, 1934, in Rosedale, Louisiana to Louise Taylor-Harris and Nathaniel Harris, Sr.
Both parents, one brother, Nathaniel Harris, Jr. and one sister, Orela Harris preceded him in death. Clifton was always a person that related to all people regardless of their age or position in life.

Clifton attended and graduated from Rosedale, Louisiana public school. Later he moved to Los Angeles, California where he continued his higher education. He became a professionally,
well-recognized and respected Broker for over 55 years.

Clifton was married to Ora Harris for over 50 loving years. To this union one son was born, Clifton Harris, Jr. (AKA “Poppa”) (Lucila) of Los Angeles, California. He was also a strong mentor in his goddaughter’s life, Nedra Dorsey of Louisiana.

Clifton surrendered his life to Christ at an early age. The late Rev. Smith, at Hartsell Methodist Church, baptized him, September 3, 1950. The Lord prepared him to serve Him through being a Youth Leader and a leader in the late Rev. James Cleveland’s Choir.

Clifton took extreme pride in his family and extended family. He believed in educating himself and others. He was a genuine servant that did not seek personal recognition and truly loved helping others. He never met a stranger and always had time for everyone; making them feel special and important. He always had a story or two to share. His entire life was dedicated to ministering to others and the up building of God’s Kingdom. Clifton was a Shepherd among the sheep. He had a heart for the people of God.
