Life Reflections

Alice Mae Todd beloved daughter of Robert Todd Sr. and Mary Todd was born on
April 7, 1933, in Hope, Arkansas. As a Baptist, she accepted her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in Hope, Arkansas at an early age. Alice Todd graduated from Yourgers High School in Arkansas.

Alice migrated with her mother, father and siblings to Santa Monica, California, where she worked at Bennetts making life support medical equipment. After retiring from Bennetts, she helped her siblings take care of her mother. Alice is a member of Greater Morning Star Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and her church family.

Alice enjoyed cooking and feeding family and friends. She also loved to eat good food, telling those around her “Give me some of that - right there to eat.” Her home was opened to all. She loved horses, bowling, Las Vegas turn around trips. Alice was affectionately known as “Shug Baby.” She loved her family and friends unconditional. Alice will be remembered as a loving, caring and kind woman who helped the lives of so many. She was a hilarious and stern woman who encouraged others to keep stepping. She spoke her mind on whatever came up … she spoke out!

On July 16, 2013, in her granddaughter Tameka Crayton’s residence in West Hills, CA Alice Mae Todd “Shug Baby” made her transition. She has been greeted up in heaven with opened arms by her father Robert Todd; mother Mary G. Todd; her sister Gladys Denmon; son Donald Ray Jeter; niece Gloria Davis; great niece Yolanda Qualls; nephews, Lawrence Beard and Mark Anthony Todd; good friends, Bessie Peoples, Eugene & Christine Samuels; her special love of 60 years “the Boogie Woogie �" Pianist” Ernest Lane.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Geneva Williams (love of her life); son-in-law Timothy Crayton; stepson Kenny Lane; niece that she raised Tammy Qualls Todd; grandchildren: Shatina Jeter, Tyon Blockman Sr., Tameka Crayton, Paul Hamilton, Marquisha Jeter, Mandell Jeter, Donald Jeter Jr., Morgana Jeter; great grandkids: Tiffany Mitchell, Tyon Blockmon Jr., Shakeyla Crayton Small, Ziona Crayton Small, Kadeana Crayton-Hamilton, Trustyn Neal; her siblings, Robert Todd Jr., Otis Todd, Grace Todd-Addy, Dorothymae Todd-Ware, Georgia Pettis & Dorothy Parker; her "Aunt Janan" Rizen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
